Would you sell our Superstar??

For what its worth, I think he is one of the best players in a West Ham shirt I've seen since I started supporting back in 1965.
Top Five anyway.
If someone came in for 60m with a 50m profit would you sell him??
I would frankly, as after this coming season he'll be the wrong side of 30.
I truly cannot see him resisting R.M or PSG.
Hope I'm wrong.

40 million, 50, 60, 80, what does it matter ?
It is just money and it won't allow us to buy another Payet.
We have him on a long term deal, just as he is hitting his peak. Why would we want to give that away at almost any price ?
His freekick ability alone is priceless, give him a freekick in a central position 20 or 30 yards from goal and it's almost like a penalty.
That's one of the main reasons why Real would want them. I despise them and their lofty sense of entitlement, watching quality players emerge at other clubs and hoovering them up, only to chew most of them up and spit them out again.
I hope Payet sees sense and will continue with our project at West Ham. With his help he'll be playing CL football at West Ham soon enough.
Let's hope Bilic can convince him to stay on as our main man at the club...

That isn't the question. The question is does Payet want to leave and go to Madrid? If he does then it's not really about whether or not WHU want to sell him. He will go; it's been the way for a long time. However the £50m / £60m profit is neither here nor there either. It'll ensure we can afford a couple of good players perhaps but the trick we had with Payet was to get a world-class player who could have gone to any CL club to play for us. It's unlikely to happen again.

Is this thread a fucking joke. Everyone does NOT have a price, he is priceless.
The question is, could we replace him for £100m? £200m? of course not because those players aren't out there or if they are we wouldn't get them.
We need to constantly throw the kitchen sink to keep the lad. Fortunately I truly believe Sullivan feels the same

We took the same risk when we signed him that he could get injured and retire.
And we'd take the same risk signing any replacement. Or playing anyone ever.

There is so much dosh now in the PL so what's another £40-50m?? We cant replace Dimi for that money... it will just be eaten up on some inferior player on massive wages....

I have always thought ZZ is the best player I have seen and the line in our song for Payet about being better than Zidane, may not be thought of as tongue in cheek any more

Got to say though, I LOVE the fact that a West Ham player is the undoubted star of the tournament so far, who every single pundit, commentator and viewer is absolutely purring about.
Guy's made himself an absolute fucking hero in France and the talisman for their team in the space of about 3 weeks.

I've never seen Payet as a realistic target for RM. Even if Ronaldo did leave, would they really carry on playing Bale out of position for Dimi ? Also, looks like Kante to RM is going to happen, Leicester are supposed to be signing a replacement for him today. Seeing as Pogba's agent has just confirmed discussions are underway between Juve and RM, is it really in ZZ's interest to be building a French colony over there ?
As for Barca, he won't be first choice unless Neymar were to leave.
I'm not sure that Guardialo, Mourinho or Conte would want him, not at the money we'd ask for a 29 year old. Like it as not, his weak point is his work rate, an obsession for all three of them. That leaves Arsenal, which is simply unconscionable.

If it was up to me I wouldn't. No matter what the fee we wouldn't get a player to come to us with his quality, selling him sends out the wrong message to.
What people are forgetting though is it isn't up to anybody, it's up to Dimitri, if he wants to stay, we won't accept any bid imo. If he wants to go, then he's gone. Simple as that.
Man U couldn't keep Ronaldo, Spurs couldn't keep Bale. It's football, it happens.
I just hope he is here next season.

Anyway, our boy has just signed a sponsorship contract with SFR, one of the French mobile operators, to be their 'face' in the French overseas departements/territories (for example La Reunion).
Altice, which owns SFR, already has Ronaldo as ambassador for all their brands. Given Dimi's current profile in Frogland, ie The Fucking Messiah, he must have coined it right in here. Hopefully, the fact that he can sign deals like this while playing for us augurs well.
